Cook island costume

These outfits are made with nature and materials that have been gathered to create skirts and belts (Titi"s) and head pieces, flowers pandanus and coconut leaves, shells are collected boiled and sewn into necklaces and used to adorn the body with bras that are made from coconut shells.

This is a Titi it is an important piece towards the Cook Island costume it fits around the dancers waist and can be worn by male and female it is worn to enhance the movement of the hips it can also be made from natural fibres like tea leaves or other plants.

This is a object that I have been researching to show how an object can be used to express a story
